The Friends of Salisbury Shopmobility Volunteers perform small miracles free of charge every day.....
Volunteers generally work regular sessions each week. Either a morning from 9.30 to 1.00 , or an afternoon session - from 1.00 until 4.30.
There are normally two or three volunteers on each session.
One Friend works behind the desk. This involves:
The other Friends perform most of the other tasks within the shop:
Sometimes it is very busy - generally market days in the summer. But it is never stressful and always possible to invest enough time to have a tea and a chat.

- Taking bookings and enquiries over the phone
- Dealing with customers arriving for their equipment
- Taking charges from the customers
- Making repeat bookings
The other Friends perform most of the other tasks within the shop:
- Collecting equipment from the store for customers checking in for their
booking - Parking equipment back in the store on return of the vehicles
- Delivering and retrieving equipment for customers who have ordered home
delivery - Being a Friends Escort for customers who may find difficulty managing
equipment on their own - pushing manual or using powered chairs - Helping with ad-hoc tasks or items of delivery and other
services
